Hi,

I have always liked watching dwarf gouramies in fish stores but never had one... I have a 37g tank with 5 angles and two clown loaches. I would really like to add dwarf gouramies into the tank as well, but before that i have few questions:

1. Dwarf gourami will live peacefully with angles (which are not full grown yet)?

2. Can I keep 2 or 3 male dwarf gouramies in the same tank, or it should be only one male and a female?

3. Are there any other gouramis except dwarf which are more suitable to my setup?

Thanks in advance,

zoraak, dwarfs can be very territorial and will chase each other all the time but seldom seem to do much damage.

with regards to angels, if they are close in size they will chase your angels around but since angels grow much larger pretty quickly the tables will most likely turn.

bottom line, you can do it with plenty of places to hide but there will be a lot of chasing going on.

In agreement with what's been said. Dwarf Gourami's and Angels both preside at the same level as each other, will be eating the same kind of foods, and so will be in direct competition to each other.

Dwarf Gourami's are semi-aggressive and will even stand up to/against my Kribensis, who're the 'hardest' fish in my tank.

Don't mix these fishes. Good luck :)

1 disagreement, dwarf gouramis are peaceful. its others like gold and blue that are semi agressive

Thanks for the replies.

I also have another tank which is 12g, there are 5 guppies in it. I have put aquarium salt in this tank because of guppies... how about putting couple of male gouramies in this tank? or my dream of keeping gouramies will not be realized? :(
