so I introduced the giant duckweed species here, and was growing it while I was raising tilapia, as a food for them... I like it in my shrimp / live bearer tanks , as those only have sponge filters , to assist with filtering the water... only issue, is what duck weed does, it reproduces so quickly, that it rapidly covers the whole surface of the tank, making feeding more challenging, so I take a small net, and skim a good portion of it off the surface, every couple weeks... now that I'm not currently raising tilapia, I've been letting it dry out, and dumping it in the burnable trash... but dried, it's a nice hay bale green color, and we keep a bucket in the kitchen, for vegetable scraps, to go out to the farm animals... I'm going to start putting the duck weed skimming into the bucket to go out... I'm just wondering if I should continue to let it dry 1st or if it would be fine fresh out of the tank for the animals... when I was growing it for the tilapia, I was doing so outside ( obviously during the summer ) so I couldn't do it now, but if the animals eat it well, it's supposed to be very nutritious, maybe I'll start it again outside, so I can grow larger quantities???

thoughts on feeding it, and either wet or dried???

no... mine are delicious pork chops and bacon... I couldn't find an appropriate movie quote for that...

If it were me I would dry it. There are all kinds of nasty bacteria and stuff in aquarium water. I mean you wouldn't dip a glass in and drink it straight out of the tank right?

well different environments, but my tanks are much cleaner than the hog water dish, or any of the animal water trough's for that matter
