Right first of all I'm having to use a different website for my pictures as photobucket.com is having some work done. Secondly don't shoot me for this.
About 2 weeks a go I found a butterfly on the balcony and it had landed in a bowl of water so I gently got it out without touching it's wings as I know you shouldn't touch them, I got it a small butterfly house thingy majig that I've had for years. It has mesh round the sides with a material bottom and a plastic zip up lid. I got an apple and cut a slice out of it and put that in the butterfly house for it. It immediately crawled(sort of) over to the apple and started drinking with it's proboscis. It got apple, orange and some nectar as I put a flowering plant in with it. I kept it alive hoping for it to be able to fly again soon, so basically I was just healing it, and it was getting better at flying and getting further each day, I would get it out gently, again without touching it's wings, and let it stretch it's wings with flying exercises. Then I woke up about 4 days ago and it had lost nearly all of one of it's wings, I found the wing in the bottom of the butterfly house. I kept it alive but it couldn't fly so I thought of ending it's misery but my mum said "Well if you can look after it, which you've proved you can, you can keep it." So I did and it lived until today but I think that it just couldn't live without 2 wings.
Now the reason I said don't shoot me is because I've been told off by multiple people on here not to touch the wildlife but I would have rather tried saving it than let the cat eat it! I have some pictures, one of it's slightly damaged wing before it lost it. Notice how it is slightly crumpled from the water.
