Fish Addict
So, was at my Mums uni's library today and came across an absolute jewel of a book. First published in 1958 it was one of the most comprehensive fish books of its time (or so the blurb says) The illustrated dictionary of tropical fishes.
I was flicking through it and came across this (sort of quoted)
Labeo erythrurus The green shark.
The fins are bloodred, body a greenish brown base with a crossband at the origin of the caudel fin. A longitudinal stripe from the tip of the edge of the gill cover, the male shows a black seam at the rear edge of the anal fin.
Reading it, it sounds a bit like a rainbow shark, but I'm almost certain they have a diff latin name, and I've never seen one with a greenish tint before, apparently its also been spawned, something which I thought we still hadn't managed with the rainbow shark?
Lol its absolutely amazing reading it, very intersting to see how much has changed.
