Does All This Work Ok?

i think your RTBS will eat your tetras eventually.

some say they wont but the 2 i have are real sods!

one terrorises a ram, thats about 3.5" and the full grown one chases convicts.

i was worried id have to watch out for him going in with my big fish but he can hold his own jus fine..

red tailed black shark i think! if so then I'd advise against it with the other, all the rest would be fine though, although you might wanna be careful with a planted tank and ground crew, I'm no expert but it doesn't always work well. Things like plecs and catfish can often uproot or damage plants.

from my own experiance id say no to the rtbs but maybe get a rainbow shark as ive found them to be a little less nasty, but as i said this is only from past experiance.

not sure how the cardinals and the angels would work once the angels get larger.i used to keep malawis as you know ginge and i also have a 55 gallon planted tank.here is my stocking list

12 x assorted cory's
10 x assorted rainbows
8 x large congo tetras(stunning)
1 x rtbs(baby)

i am going to add a couple of keyhole cichlids and a couple of bn's.

I think that the cardinals may be to big for the angels, but maybe not.

Get some rummy noses instead

angels and tetra's doesn't always work, but if you have them from juvi's together then more often than not they won't think of each other as food so they won't be a problem. But yes if your worried something like rummy noses or any other slightly larger tetra's would maybe be a safer bet :good:

"more often than not they won't think of each other as food" a tetra cant eat an angel  . I think if i have them both from juvies i should be ok.
The tank will be heavily planted do the tetras will have alot of cover.
demonmagus the rummynose get the same size as the cardinials.
Wiggle with the cories,BN's and ottos they are all fine in planted tanks.
Sam i didn't think you were meant to keep 2 RTBS together???
I think i will have to find a different centerpeice fish maybee an albine BTBS??? Only joking. Any advice.

hey you never know!! you can some mean tetra's!! :hey: :hey: :hey:

fair enough, I wasn't sure I don't really know much about planted tanks, just know you have to be a little careful so thought I'd bring the point up for consideration!

Yes I agree and thanks but as i have said the angles will be about 3" and the tetras about 1" so the angles wont even bother to start. If they do start to drop off then ill move them into my other tank and maybee consider harlequin rosoboras.
