Do I Have To Soack Bogwood From Someone Elses Tank

the reason you soak bogwood is to wash out the tannines which stain your water brown, however the tannines don't actually harm your fish, and some species will in fact find it beneficial. so you don't ever have to soak bogwood. it's an optional thing based on your preference for the look of your tank. however when you are taking anything from someone elses tank what you have to think of is can you 100% guarantee that their tank is healthy, in very few cases can you answer yes to that. If there are any diseases then there is a chance of transferring them. so if it's possible i would boil the wood before putting it into my tank, if you can't then leave it to dry out for a good few days which should kill off any nasties then add it to your tank

I got most of my fish from this person and they all fit and healty.

Just was'nt sure if it would affect cycling process :)

shouldn't do

if your confident their tank is healthy then you can put it in straight away. it's always worth mentioning stuff like that though as sometimes people don't think about cross contamination.

Put the bogwood in my tank last night. Omg fish were so excited. more so my king tiger plec and clown loachs..

also put some in my cycling tank and pinched some of her sand to put in cycling tank too :shifty:

Thats not what i said! LOL.

Aponogetons are good fast growers and grow tall which would be ideal for your tank. Also, Limnophila and Cabomba, but Cabomba can be very messy i find. Bits floating about everywhere.

I see you got some Echinodorus (swords). Did you get root tabs for them? The Echinodorus and the Cryptocoryne would really benefit from using them. :good:

Wowzers. Lovely & clear.

Can I ask, for how long have you had the large tank set up for?
