The other day my mom had taken me to town to pick up my bettas and, seeing as how we got an extra two, we needed to get a divided tank.

We went to the lfs and got a 2.5 that came with two dividers (when I breed this will def. be a jarring tank) but, oddly, no lid. The same thing came at petsmart with a lid but no dividers. Now, we checked the price - (at petsmart, $10.00) and oh dear, $20 dollars. We were in a bind so we bought it, asked the checkout lady for a lid.

"Hmm... a lid...?" She ran upstairs and brought down the right lid. I told her that was it, and I would take it. "It costs extra." I admit, at that moment, I was p***** off. WHAT? She just took the lid off and charged extra for it. I was mad. I told her at petsmart they sold the tank AND the lid for ten dollars.

"Well. This isn't petsmart."

Dear god, I'm still fuming over that. Of course, Petsmart didn't sell the dividers... but still, those people anger me.

oh I wouldve went to walmart or something..that wouldve made me MAD

Well, they come in packages, you see. Also, I believe the slip of paper says that the other things are sold separately.

Also, the lid is going to cover up the entire top of the tank... you do not want that, since it would mean that there is no fresh 02 in the air between the glass and water, not to mention that you would have to keep the water level really low for the 2-3" of air that the betta would need between the lid and water.

ur lucky 2.5g here where i live are 78 dollars!! and thats like 85 dollars UDS!!!

Wah?!

What sort of tank is this?

The one that K.J. is talking about is just the hull.

And the most expensive 5 gallon tank I have ever seen is 60 dollars, and it was a hex...

That's $24 for a 2.5 gallon. USD = U.S. dollars? Maybe not...

As for a 10 gallon, that's 9 dollars here.

Whereabouts are you located?

We don't have a walmart, petco or petsmart nearby... anywhere.

The lids are kind of annoying, but I leave them about an inch, inch and a half open for most to all of the days. Yes, the tanks are terrible, but cheap and efficient so I like them.

EDIT: Meh, the petsmart thing seemed kind of misleading. We do have one, however it is much too far to go unless a particular trip is made.

im located in the Cayman Islands which may be the reson since us is the closest but its not owned by the us so its more expensive to ship out here.
