does anybody know the dimensions of your average 30 US gallon tank? Or know how I can figure it out on my own?

thanks anvil!

sanadi, if you would, that'd be great. I need to know if I have enough room for one (hopefully + stand) in my apartment for next year. it's quite wee, if memory serves me correct :X

you can get all different one's, mine are 48" x 12" x 18" ish, but you can get ones 36" long but deeper

i know they come in longer and taller and whatnot, but as my apartment will be smallish i was looking for the regular dimensions.

thanks for the spurt of momentum and productivity, carl ;)

i guess you don't have to worry about it now, sanadi, but thanks anyhow :)

Those measurements are perfect, though it will probably mean moving the art desk the comes with the place (I so doubt that flimsy thing will carry what, 240 pounds of water...? )

Hi starrynightxxi :)

Here is a link to the All-Glass Aquarium site. If you look at their standard aquariums you will find the dimensions for many sizes.

If you don't have much room, you might want to think about getting a 29 gallon tank. It is shorter and higher than a 30 gallon but holds almost as much water. It takes up no more room than a 20 gallon long, and if you get a metal stand for it, a 20 gallon high tank will fit on the shelf beneath it. That's a lot of water in a relatively small space. :D

thanks! :) I ended up with a 29 gallon, which I now have thanks to craigslist -lol- 30 dollars for a 29 gal plus emperor biowheel filter, thermometer, glass hood w/ light, and some filter media. Now I just need to figure this biowheel mess out. I've never had one before. Maybe if i find that stand i can get the 20g and consolidate my two 10gallons. that would be pretty ideal -lol- lordy i need a job ;)
