I am always overwhelmed at Petco (local petstore) :shout: . There are so many colors and choices to choose from. I always want the best for my fish, but I never can decide whether to get the Spongebob Squarepants set, go with the bright neon gravel and funky plants, or just get natural sand and green plastic seeweed. Petco is huge and there is like anything you could ever want in there for your pets, so I have an open mind for suggestions. So HELP! please??

Well, I like natural. However it's your tank & you have to look at it everyday so you should choose whichever you prefer :good:

I would always go for real, natural looking stuff - plants (preferably live) and a nice piece of wood. Looks much better than the neon stuff.

the neon/bright stuff looks real cool when you first put it in. but it gets old real fast... i really think it detracts from the colors of the fish in the tank. how are fish supposed to compete with electric green gravel and spinning pink windmills?

natural always works. and natural still continues to look natural with a little algae, etc. natural also doesn't fade, and if it does, it still looks natural. neon stuff fades and it looks ghetto... like an old abandoned amusement park on the shore that's been shut down 30 years ago.

i once put together a tank with neon pink/purple rocks, and i got Praecox Rainbows for the tank. And guess what? the Rainbows looked silver. couldn't see ANY of their color. boy was i bummed.

anyway, just my ideas. :)

You could always go mostly natural, and they throw in Spongebob or some other bright decoration just to funk it up and make it personal, it is your tank after all. Besides, Spongebob is cool.

   Cant stand the fake plants or florecant yuk fake diver/skull/bridge, in a room with kids yes but know where els.
I saw a really nice planted tank by Oliver knott with a stone Buddha, that was cool but it was well put together.
