Dead Pictus

i bought a pictus catfish last week, i have an 18g long tank. he did the expected, hid and came out when no one was around to see him - or so he thought lol.
last night he came swimming around when the lights were on and we thought he was coming round to daylight.
this morning he was dead

all the other fish are fine and have their usual bright colours and demeanur

Poor thing... I actually like the pictus catfish. Are these fish compatible with clown loaches, silver sharks, kribs? I want to get some and put them in my upcoming tank.

seems like a small tank for such an active fish... but if he was still small, I would suspect something he came home with.

I suspect it probably was something it came home with.
18G is too small unfortunately as they are an active fish, they also prefer to be kept in groups of 3 or more.
