I have 4 females Betta fish. 2 of them have a swim bladder condition which they had when I got them. I tried curing possible constipation but to no avail.

At first, Ebony lived pretty happily. She would eat and swim around some of the time and Tina would join in.

Just today, I came home to find Ebony dead. Tina is still alive and much the same as she normally is; however, I got Ebony before I got Tina, and am afraid the same fate will come to Tina.

I have clove oil to make sure there is no pain if the best option is to euthanise her, but I am yet undecided due to her seemingly good health.

Any suggestions or opinions?

if she is in good health do not uthanise her if you want rid advertise her for rehoming

moniter her and if she is fine and no disease then maybe get some more companions

thirded. no reason to kill a seemingly healthy fish. and just becasue her friend died does not mean 100% that she will die from the same "thing", or is even affected at all.
were they constipated or fat? they could have been eggy which is why it was difficult to control. bloating can also be from overfeeding/feeding the wrong staple food, internal parasites, dropsy. swimbladder disorder can also be parasites to bacterial.
please dont kill the remaining fish if she is vibrant and healthy.
cheers
*edit double post* oops

how u do that font?

oh, and i think you should only euthanise it if it is in pain alot

how to kill: add some soap to the water... instant death

If she happy I would leave her be.
Have you tryed a bacterial med as it can sometimes be a swim bladder infection.
Have you tryed peas.

Swim bladder can be caused by bad water quality, unstable diet, to many dried foods, injury, birth defect, bacterial infection of the swim bladder, internal parasites, unstable temp.

Wilder - what is it with you and peas??? My BN Pleco loves them by the way and is much happier now - thanks

Peas are good in a fish diet as it keep them going to the toilet and getting constipated.

When a fish has swim bladder they say try the pea trick.

Hey guys, thanks for the help. I have tried peas, and that didn't work. She also seems to have taken a bad turn just recently - not eating, not moving around very much. She is in a hospital tank at the moment.

Have you added a bacterial med?
