Damaged Silver Shark

Hello there



I'm just wondering if someone could give me some advice, one of my silver sharks got stuckinbetween rocks, after releasing it he has quite alot of scales missing and one of his gill'l is a bit red.

Other than this he is swimming around ok, I'm just wondering if i should treat him with any meds??

any advice would be fab.

Hi Katie - the same actually happened to me. I have a large silver shark circa 13", silly thing got stuck in between some rocks and was lashing around trying to free himself, my tank is large and I couldnt get him out, I ran into the kitchen, got a cloth and put that in the tank to pull him out.

When I looked, there were loads of scales floating around the tank, gashes and I mean chunks missing from his head and side.

I thought I was going to lose him, but, with each day he got better and better and healed up really well.

I would say having good water stats and clean water really helps with healing fish, I personally never put anything into the tank 'med wise', and just allowed a natural process to take place.
