A day or two after your tank is done cycling should be ok. ie, a day or so after your ammonia and nitrite finally equal out to zero.

Do you have a second tank up and running? If so, you can use the filter media from that to get a jump start on your new tank. If not, it's going to be quite awhile before you are cycled. Plecs and Knifefish are fairly sensitive, if you put them in an un-cycled tank, it will be sure death for both of them! Don't want that as I know they are very cool fish!

Is a week after setting up ok to put fish in?
Everything in the tank has been running non-stop since tuesday last week (apart from lights which have been on 10 hours a day).
