Do Corys have an adverse reaction to aquarium salt?

Also, do medications have to be cut in half for them like you have to do with Tetras?

And finally, my firemouth shouldn't bother them right?

ask my friend baseballfan111 he might no something he has 3 albino cories!!!

Yes! Never put salt in with corys, they don't have scales so it'll burn them.

As for firemouths altho they can get agressive Im fairly sure they're ok with corydoras, but dont quote me on that, I'm sure one of the many cichlid experts on this forum will tell you.

What are you using the meds for? Melafix is less likely to harm most fish and clears up damaged fins quicker.

i'm not treating for anything at the moment. I am just thinking of getting some cory cats, but I might want to think again in case i need to use aquarium salt at some point. are there any other types of catfish that are scaled, or is that the nature of catfish, scaleless?

I meant that last post to be under my name. My girlfriend was logged in instead and I didn't notice! :D

I agree. Thorichthys meeki are what I call a "tweener". They are too meek for the more aggro cichlids and sometimes too aggro for a community tank.

IME, they "should" be ok with most community fish, especially bottom dwellers and they usually leave them alone.

Well I just spoke to a friend of mine and she keeps cichlids in the same tank as several corys, with no probs at all.
