Compatible Gourami's?

I currently have a female opaline and 1 female pearl gourami in my tank, the opaline is very insterested in everything, while the pearl likes to hide in a dark cave at the bottom half of the day, it is shy, but only early days.
They are getting along beautifully.

Would i be pushing my luck if i got a dwarf gourami?
Should it be a female or male? I only plan on getting 1 more gourami and I would prefer it to be a dwarf..

Dwarf Gourami's are a really great fish. I would get a male dwarf because I think the females are really agressive. (anyone else comfirm this?)

i think its pretty much 50/50 on whether or not adding a dwarf would be a good or a bad thing.
i have a gold, dwarf and a blue and i ended up returning my blue due to over aggression
if you have a good, understanding pet store that will allow you to swap or get store credit, then i'd go for it, but i don't have much will power :lol:

if you do, look for a victim or loner not a chaser (as long as there is no damage to it)

another thing to keep in mind aswell is that you have a timid pearl,
how big is your tank?
as small as the dwarf is (2 1/2") , they can be little buggers and bullies quite easily
mine tends to be civil and only nips when he is nipped first

so i wouldn't chance it unless like i said above, you have a very understanding pet store

i would say females are meanies too!
i accidently called mine a male but i'm pretty sure she's just a little shrew!
