Compatibility with DISCUS

Sorry, definitely not! Firemouths are too aggressive, especially when spawning and do not like the same water necessary for Discus.

NOOOOO, I use to have baby firemouths, but when i put my discus with them they immediately started to hassle them so I sold my firemouths to my LFS.....I think the only cichlid you could put with discus are apistogrammas.....

You have absolutly NO chance of doing that!!!! Discus are shy fish and by having over active fish like firemouths in a tank the discus will be extremly shy and stick to the back of the tank looking pale.

Discus/firemouths in a 20 gallon tank is also a very bad idea! Also, discus like to be in groups of 4+.

dude wait till u get a bigger tank

Hey silva fishie where abouts in Perth u live i live in Hillarys.

what WOULD be a good suggestion for a nice colourful fish? Any breeds, i dont mind(rainbows cichlids)

in a 20 gallon, i wouldn't put anything else if you've got a breeding pair of firemouths

Hi Aussie.

I live in Perth as well.

When u say Hillarys do you mean Hillarys boat harbour? around that area?

and which lfs do u go to

Hey Bean
yer i leave right near hillarys boat harbour, i go to vebas in fremantle and pet city in Joondalup and fish n stuff in Balcatta and u

firemouths grow to 15 cm's and fish that large do need room! They get territorial when they are spawning, a 20 gallon tank dosn't offer much territory! One choice you have is to put a group of tetras/barbs in and see how they go, but the firemouths may attack them if they are spawning, and the fish come too close to them.
