Hi, I have a 75 gallon freshwater tank that is at 81 degrees farenhiet and has a PH of 7.2 (can be adjusted if neccesary). My question is to have a large community with approximatley two pairs of german Blue Rams, 2 dwarf powder blue gouramis, maybe 2 schools of larger tetras such as black skirts, and around 5 platys (any color). So, I was wondering as to what bottom feeders if any I should get, If silver dollars could fit in, and if this tank is possible and how many of each fish I should keep? The tank is fully decorated and has been running since late November and kept to baby Oscars in it for a month that did very well and then i gave them back to the store so I could start my community tank (it is empty now). Your advice would be appreciated.

Silver Dollars are schooling fish, so atleast three, and i think your tank is big enough for them, although i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong.
Do note that they will eat all your plants if you're looking at keeping any plants in your tank.

Normally two male dwarf gouramis will fight however in your tank they should have enough space to each establish their own territories.
You could have pretty large schools of tetras around 10 fish each?

For bottom feeders a school of cories would look nice. Maybe a couple bristlenose plecos?

This is all assuming u have proper filtration and do regular water changes of course.

I wish i had a 75 gallon to fill =P

Thank you. I have 110 aqua clear filter and am going to get another probably about 60 to add to the 110. Also i was wondering if loaches could work instead of corys, because I have heard that corys often get into trouble with rams when they are spawning. As for plants they are plastic =( Thanks again for your help.

a general rule with platies & tetras from my experiance.=

always get 1 male 3 females
with tetras you want' atleast 6-7 no less or else they will nip other fish big time!

I wouldn't do silver dollars myself.

There are lots of catfish, Synos, Plecs, Corys, Pictus...... What sort do you like?

Pictus is out of the question actually they will eat small fish.

I do kinda like the small loach species and corys are ok. will they eat algae on the side of the tank aswell.
