Hi Everyone,

I am about to stock my L48"xW15"xH18" 220ltr heavily planted tank with small to medium sized community fish.

Please can you tell what you would think is a good stocking level in inches for this setup?

Thanks

Is the tank cycled, and how long has it been set up?

If it's a new tank, you should stick to the 1" per gallon (this only works with small/medium fish) rule - not all in one go though, slowly does it. If it's been set up 6 months or more, you could go up to 1.5" or even 2" slowly, all the time depending on whether your filtration is coping and what the stats say.

Lisa's post was great, I'd just like to add that space is a factor. If you get a territorial species, it doesn't matter how low you're stats are, you may not be able to get anything else or they'll be bullied or killed.
