From what I've read many of you out there like to have both a canister and bio wheels rolling at the same time. Instead of continuing to use my Emperor 400 I'd couple a canister filter (Rena XP3 or Eheim 2028) to a (Marineland?) dual bio wheel that is powered by the canister.

Dual Bio Wheel Pro 60 ($32):

Do any of you out there have this setup? Would it work? Do you think it's viable? Do you know if the hose connections would be the right size? I don't see any literature defining the tube i.d. or the bio wheel's male connector o.d.
