Hi All,

I have had a new tank for about 4 weeks now and I cant seem to get the water clear at all. Its a rena aqualife tank about 370litres and i have used my old filter media in the new tank and never saw a cycle really. I do have a small bit of bog wood in the tank which might be making the water a bit yellow/brown but i cant seem to get rid of the cloudyness or the particals floating around.

Its got a rene PX3 pump also

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just try daily water changed for a couple of days this should help it settle, i have a similar problem in a 56 litre however i didnt have the paticles just the cloudy brown colour it soon cleared with the daily changes.

i would put a fine filter floss pad in the filter , helps catch all the small particles and 'Polishes' the water.

I have a similar problem with my Rena tank, the Rena filter just doesnt seem to suck in particals in the water. I've just added a second canister filter (Eheim 2217) and the water is starting to clear day by day.

Thanks for you help guys.

I have taken out the bog wood and it seems to be almost rotting on the bottom and black horrible stuff is coming from it so i think that may be adding to the brown effect! I have replaced it with another peice i used to use that I had no issue with so ill see if that helps. the small particals seem to be going a bit too so i think that may have been the issue but i do need a new fine filter pad for the filter so I'll get one of them in as well.

Any other suggestions?
