Clearseal Tank

Anyone know if the bars at the top of the tank are structural or just hold a lid and sliders on? I cant see them adding strength or does they help with flexing? Thought id check as i want to take them out. cheers in advance.

Most foke just cut them off, There only there to hold lids on

Are you talking about the glass bars or the black plastic trim?
 
The black plastic can come off, but the glass ones need to stay, or the tank will bow and could crack.
