I got loads of old bio balls and ceramic noodles that have been sitting in a bucket on my balcony for 6 months, would these be ok to use if they were cleaned?

can they be cleaned in a bleach solution and then be ok in a filter?

They came out of an old trickle filter for a coldwater setup and want to use them in my tropical, I know they dont cost loads but every little helps, if they can be used once cleaned.

Yep, easy to clean. I would just soak them in the hottest water from the tap and vinegar. Rinse well, let them dry and they'll be good to go. You can bleach and dechlorinate if you prefer. Either way, definitely usable.

I would just use hot water and elbow grease to give them a wee scrub if they're really dirty, don't use bleach, that's the last thing you want a tiny trace of in a filter.

thanks guys :good: , had a look at them and they aint really that dirty so soaking them in hot water every couple of hours
