for the 1st time since ive had my 2213 im going 2 clean it out but i need 2 know step by step how to do it in case i flood out my house
what pipe comes off 1st ect ect a quick responce would be great cheers

Ok I have the exact same filter there are some grey fixtures with it that are like taps you move to little switches on them and it shuts off the water flow so water cannot get in or out. Do you have them attached if you do not then you will have to get the filter above the water level or some buckets and remove the pipes and stop water leaking. to attach the tap like fixtures you need to cut piping to attach at one end of them it is simple but hard to explain in text. Do you have the two grey attachments? This is the Eheim isn't it?

Found this, hope it helps.

Maintenance and routine repairs: Pull out power plug. Release locking mechanism on pump head and remove pump parts carefully. Lift out cooling channel insert with a screwdriver. Clean all parts and then reassemble in the reverse sequence.

haven't got them attached or do not actually own them? Did you buy this second hand, on ebay or brand new?

i was given it by my girlfriends mum im not 100% sure ive got the taps laying around

right just been in the shed and looked in the black bag of bits my girlfriends mum gave me and the taps are thair. dont look like ill be cleaning out the filter till next week the as ill need someone here to help me with it incase water leakes every ware. when i do clean it out ill put the taps on the piping cheers for your help

your welcome, when trying to avoid water leaking most certainly turn the filter off and move the filter above water level and above the tank so the water running out of the pipes goes back into the tank.
