Chinese Algae Eater

Everybody says when your algae eater matures and is full grown they will lose taste for algae and suck on your other fish's slime coats. What actually is the mature age for an algae eater?

I don't know, mine started getting aggressive when they were quite small- maybe 3 inches.

It doesn't start happening at a "mature age". It can start from any age.
Some only start to eat less algae and become territorial at around 3 inches. Some less - some more. They are not community fish and should be rehomed if in a community setup. For the happiness, health, well-being & general peace of other community fish.
