Check out these planted tanks

Sweet, some of them look amazing. What are some of those plants that give a Carpeting effect, do they work on sand and how easy are they to get to grow?

Is it worth adding any Nitrate free fertilizer to my next tank before I put the fish in to get the plants rooted and growing well, I can stop adding it then a few days before I get the fish????

Well, some people has no life at all, they just live with their scissors

I had to laugh when I saw those tanks. I love having real plants in my aquarium but my partner and some of our friends always tut tut and say 'oh they'll only cause you problems'. Oh they of little faith.

I think the fish are much happier browsing through 'real' plant life. :p

what would they think of those beautiful aquariums? ;)

great site, what are those plants that spread along the bottom?
Im pretty sure those are Riccia plants. They do not root to the ground but are held down by a net (you cant c it cause ther is so much).

how long do you all think it took for these tanks to become that extablished?

months? years?
