Changing Over Tank

Changing over a tank,both tanks are approx the same size 75 gall hex to a 350 trigon,the trigon is empty but has been used and was going to use existing internal filter + move my filter over as well,when it comes too the water should i transfer as much of the old tank water over as possible or just a percentage and top up with new, thanks for any help

depending on when you last done a water change i would transfer over most and add some fresh like a water change and keep using you rold filter witch is allready matured thats how i would do it but dont no if its right
