Catching Wild Caught Fish Yourself?

I have a pretty big lake nearby and when i went their last time, i saw a variety of freshwater fishes...I think i saw a gourami and their were a lot of sucking catfishes of somekind rasping on a large bogwood nearby that is accessible at waist deep...I was wondering if i do actually catch one of these fishes, will i be able to raise them in captivity safely? If so, how do i first quarantine them? Also, if i find a nice piece of drift/bogwood in the lake, will it be safe for aquarium use??? Thanks for any replies...

Will be able to help you with specifics. Answer = Yes, you can keep Wild caught fish in your aquarium, as long as they are big enough. Where are you located?
