careing for plants

Nope. The first thing you need is research. :p

It all depends on which type(s) of plants you want. Plants have different light and temp requirements, different max. lengths, and some of them are edible while others... not so much.

What size tank do you have (can't read your sig at the moment)? What fish (can't see sig)? Temp? Type and age of light? Plant preferences? Reason for wanting plants?

well gee that helped alot. maybe u should buy a new monitor or a pair of glasses because ur the only one who cant read my sig. i have done research and i know plants need light. iv got a {10g tank} and the plants iv got growin in there are nymphaes lilly bulbs and hybrid aponogeton blubls.

Attitude!

Your original question was as vague as me asking you what would be the best way to get to Peking!

You cannot expect a detailed answer to a question that general or vague. How can someone suggest what lighting you need if they do not know what kind of tank it will be under - yes, you have a sig, but presumably you already have light on them, so it is just as likely that you are thinking of a new setup.

Lighten up, you'll find you get better answers that way.

By the way, if you go to add reply, you can't see the sig. Either way, you have nothing in there, so you have to give us an idea of what will be in there.

As for lightening up, more like stop being a jackass. I'm a very amiable person, but ignorance like yours pisses me off.

lol :D i still have no idea how to care for plants or how me being a jackass had anything to do with plants. but anyway i gave u the info and if u dont know then just tell me. if anyone else out there know about these plants lemme know.

thanx for the help tempestuousfury :D

Lateral Line, i wish i knew what the word peking means so that i could understnad wat u were telling, thanx :)

No, that wasn't supposed to help you. You stated that I needed glasses because I couldn't see. the point I was making was that I was in a window where I couldn't see your sig.

Now, I personally don't have any specific information, but I can tell you that your local library would be able to give you specific info on those types of plants (the aponogeton for sure). They'll give you the light requirements, temp, and length so you can choose the amount and duration of light, the placement of the plant, the numbers of plants, and the temp to keep the plants in.

However, the types of fish you buy will affect the success of the plant growth.

Ummm....it's a city in China.

I assume you bought those bulbs from wal-mart. The aponogetons aren't very demanding. I'm growing some with low lighting and nothing else. I am, however, growing other aponogetons in high light with CO2. Just watch your plants closely, and address any problems that may arise.

Are you having any specific problems at this time?

no, no problems jus wanted to know like requirments for some of my plants. ;)

thanx Bangin for the help :D

thanx cometcattle for letting know wat peking was
(sry i cant be as preppy as the rest of u) dumb it down next time Lateral Line :dunno:

and last but not least thanx tempestuousfury for once again provideing me absolutely no help. :p

nah peking duck is acutally a way of making duck :) its very yummy, you can find it in chinatowns and stuff :)

Heh... in actuality we can gather all of the tank lighting/temperature/substrate/co2 information telepathically... we just pretend to make it all difficult. :p
