Currently I have 3 decent sized silver dollars (3.5 to 4 inches) in my 55 gal tank. I'm curious if I can put a school of 5 Giant Danios in with them. I know Giant Danios are crazy but I think they would calm down if I put them in big schools. What do you guys think?

You can put them together. I Don't think anything makes Giant Danios settle down too much tho. :)

Giant danios are good with most other fish. As you've noticed I'm sure, the silver dollars are quite docile with the occasional nip to another of its own species. And yes, Giant Danios can be quite energetic and they will be like that no matter what. But I see no prob putting them both together as they will be able to coexist with no territorial issues or aggression otherwise as long as there is plenty of food to go around.

Yea I've noticed that. They like to chase each other sometimes. The thing I'm afraid of is that the Silver Dollars get scared really easily and I'm worrying about putting something too energetic in there. But there is LOTS of room in my tank so I do beleive what you say is true. Cool, thanks for the advice!

How about adding some Otos after that?

Are those the only fish you have in your 55 gal?

I have giant danios too and they are very energetic, they like to chase each other and sometime chase my rainbow tetra but I haven't had any major problems with tem.
