Can U Over Filter?

Not really - but you can create too much current. So if the output is too strong (and your fish are riding on the crest of waves!), you can easily do things to lessen it. Such as different outlet (with large holes) or positioning the outlet differently.

Ps: on my 440 litre tank (380 effective litres), I run a filter of 1325 lph as well as one for 700 litres per hour - total 2000 lph!

You want around 5x per hour as a general amount to aim for (unless you are doing marine where you want from 20x up to 56+x)

Also remember that the amounts quoted on filters is (except for Eheim) the flow rate without media to slow the flow down.

ok so 5x... :( dam thats a lot of filter and a lot of cost...unless i go for a cheaper maker of filter. if i get 2 pro 3 that would give over 5x but would cost £440. mabie ill go for 1 pro 3 and 1 cheaper large filter.
any recomendations on cheaper companies?

Don't forget eBay ! You're already sitting with a filter rated at 1000 lph. Just get another to run on the tank as well to bring you up to required filtration. Though I'm not familiar with fitlers larger than this, so can't really recommend - apart from the Rena Filstar XP3 (which in my opinion is noisy but really powerful) - at 1325lph.

my pro2 is staying on my 4 foot tank, i need all new for the 5 foot. ive never used e-bay and i am a bit wary of second had stuff that i cant see in person espically filters-may have bacteria. i saw that rena xp3 mite get one of trhem

If you get someone without outstanding feedback and clear photos, you can't go wrong :good:

I have 2 pengiun 350's and a rena xp3.

I don't plan on keeping all that on one tank. I'm thinking about picking up a 47 gallon tall tank for angle fish.
