Hi guys, it's an essay but here goes!
After selling my guppy fry and all my female guppies dying I was left with a single female guppy. I saw an ad for endlers, contacted the lady and went to get some last tuesday. She was selling up and moving and had a tank full of endlers and siamese fighters and odd combinations!
she also had a gorgeous centre piece on the table all lit up with a water fall on it and in there, she had this beautiful white fish amongst the endlers. I was very intrigued and asked her about it, she said it was a short finned albino siamese fighter. I have never heard of this before and since I had no fish left I wanted it. After much discussion she let me have it. I ended up coming back with just that and no endlers!
She was an elderly lady so I didn't want to disrespect her or insult her in any way but I don't believe it to be a siamese fighter.
He is pure white with red eyes, beautiful pink tail and fins with dots on them and pink stripes on his body. On closer inspection he does indeed have the kind of upturned "bulldog" mouth, he goes to the surface for air and doesn't bother about the female guppy who is in the tank.
Can someone please tell me if indeed he is a siamese fighter. Thanks

It's an albino paradise fish Macropodus opercularis.

They are a labyrinth fish and are pretty aggressive, so need similar care to a fighter.

Oh thanks so much for the quick replies. I just have a female guppy in the tank she's the only one left  he doesn't seems bothered by her but it's only been a few days so things could change after the "honeymoon" period is over. Is he able to have any tankmates?

Not in my experience; they're more likely to attack fish of other species than fighters are.

Depends on the tank size IMO, My grandparents have one as the centrepiece to their 3ft subtropical setup that includes gold and cherry barbs, platys, and danios

Aww that's fine i'll keep him by himself, it's a shame but it's his own fault lol

My tanks only 64L, I will keep him by himself, he has the female guppy for company but i've seen her chasing him so she's probably not keen on him lol
