I recently converted my 10 gallon into a hospital tank to isolate 3 sick neon tetras. I think they have NTD. One died, and the other 2 are probably not going to last much more than a couple weeks.

Anyway, when clearing out the 10 gallon, I forgot to removed 3 snails that came with some plants. At least I remembered to remove the plants.

Anyway, when I'm done with the hospital tank, I plan to store it in case of future need, rather than re-populate it with other fish. So, can I move the 3 small snails to my main tanks, or might they transmit something to the other tanks? The neons could possibly have false NTD, or secondary problems like infections, parasites, etc.

I wouldn't take the chance. With quar or hospital tanks you need to use seperate equipment or you risk transferring an unknown pathogen. I'm sure snails are no different.

Damn, that's what I thought. I'm gonna throw out the filter media, and clean out the filter, then put everything in my atic until I need a hospital or quarentine tank again someday. I wish I would have thought to take the snails out before :(
