I've been on Kijiji looking at used fish tanks. There's a 20 gal that I like, it comes with everything save gravel and even has a stand. It's 12x16x24.
I was hoping to get a new (used) fish tank of about 10-20 gal to put my Mollies in (as I want to elaborate my 30 gal stock but my male molly is to aggressive and wouldn't like any new fish)

I'm sure the 20 gal would fit in my room (as it has its own stand so it wouldn't take up desk space) and it is plenty big enough for 4 adult mollies (plus some extra? ;))

But I'm not sure if I want another full 20 gal to clean.
I already have a 30 gal and a 5 gal.
If I got the 20 gal I would have to get rid of my 5 gal Betta tank (As I have promised myself only 2 tanks at a time unless it's for a sick fish, I don't want my parents to think I'm crazy so 2 is the limit)

So I have a bit of a problem. I'd have nowhere to put my Betta as my Mollies would probably bully him to death but I want to get a Gourami or some other sort of fish for my 30 gal, but I've heard that Gourami and Betta's don't get along.
So should I hold off on the Gourami and let the Betta be ruler of the 30 gal? (I have 2 plain (Wild strain) guppies and some Platy's in the 30 gal with the mollies so ther is a chance that my Betta would be fine with them there.

If not.. does anyone else have an idea that doesnt involve getting rid of Casper the Betta? Please help, thanks :)

It's ok my parents probably think I'm crazy but I'm fine!

My family has a tendency to go over board in our hobbies. My mom works out 5 times a week, my dad has a workshop out back that is almost the size of the house... I want to be the normal one and not have a bunch of fish tanks :p They would totally understand, I just don't want to be the crazy fish person like my mom is the workout freak and my dad is the crazy inventor :p

I'm just trying to problem solve so I can get what I want with the space I have. (Unless I put a divider in the 30 gal so Casper the Betta can have his own 5ish gallon slice of tank :p)... that seems like a reasonable solution right?

Well if you want to keep the betta then he would have to stay in the 30 gallon. Male mollies can be a little aggressive but with a betta's long fins he could tare him apart. A 20 gallon devoted to mollies would look great and you could create all sorts of different strands.
