for the past few weeks my molly has been INCREDOBLY agresive  :< i have sime pritty expensiv fish so she has been in the net the whole time what shouldi do? :(

There seem to be a lot of aggressive mollies out there because this topic has come up a lot.

You said you had been keeping your molly in the net the whole time? That's not good. Does she have a male? It may not make any difference but once my female was being really mean to my other fish and then I got her a male and she was nice... and fat!

Does your molly have any territory to rule over? Or does she just make herself queen of the tank? You could try rearranging everything in the tank and then putting everyone in but her so they could establish territory first. Then put her in and see if she is less aggressive. I've never done that before but I've heard of others who have and it worked.

I would take her out of the net. It will only stress her. Do you have plants and decor for the bullies victims to run to? I have a very aggressive female guppy and she'll nip and charge at the other females, but no damage is really done. Each fish will determine a pecking order and you cant really change that. I let nature runs its course. Soon the other fish will give the fish its space and often run away from her before she even attacks or notices them. If she starts causing wounds, then i'd start thinking of another place for her.

I had the same problem.
Got 3 mollys 1 male 2 females and 1 female attacked all the other fish in the tank.
After a week I took her back to the LFS.
Some fish are just aggressive.

the way i deal with bullying mollies is to chop off their tail fins short.

it really works...the bullying fishes all became very gentle and chicken.

LOL!

1 of my female lyre tail mollies has just decided to turn aggressive. She looks very close to dropping again but I've never seen her be aggressive to other females before. Infact I've never seen this with females before. I used to get it alot with my huge lyre tail male.

All I can say is, when my girlfriend was pregnant, she became very aggressive & I had to keep out of her way.
