I have a bubble wand which was given to me by a friend and wanted to know if it is really beneficial for my 15 gallon freshwater tank. I have an air pump where you can adjust the bubble flow accordingly. Wanted to see if it was good to add to a tank. I have good surface movement for oxygen exchange and the fish appear to be breathing normally and figure maybe this would enhance their livelyhood. Is a bubble wand really beneficial or is it more for show?

It helps to oxygenate the water and improve circulation, so yes, it is a useful ornament ;)

On top of what PrincessKiara said, some people (like me) like the look of bubbles.  All of my tanks have live plants in them so a bubbler isn't needed, but I like the look of bubbles so I throw one in most of my tanks.  I know hardcore planted tank keepers will yell at me for that.

Heh, why would anybody yell at you? I am going to jungleplant (read: overload with plants) my 238L tank, but I am not omitting the bubbles! They look so pretty, and sound so relaxing <3

There is nothing wrong with putting one in your tank if you want to. Its just of no real benefit other than moving the water a bit which, if you have proper filtration should not be necessary anyway.
