I have a ten gallon aquarium that I'd like to set up as a breeding tank. My quesiton is, what are the optimum conditions for breeding in regards to water temperature, plant density, pH level, etc.?

Thanks very much for any help. B)

what are you breeding?(the tank is a bit small for any fish larger then 2.5 inches(and im pushing it when i say.5)

Nothing large (obviously). Primarily guppies, danio's, and possibly some tetra's.

usually anything between a ph of 6.8 and 8 dainos have harder breeding level, but guppies should breed nicely premember 2 femals to 1 male thtat give better fertility rate, most tetras will not breed in small conditions however Platies will(and have succeded in) also snails LOL,snails. most livebearers will

What about water temperature? Is there a particular temperature that is best for getting fish to breed?

71 ferenheight up to 78 80 is just getting warm

choose a fish though.. let me help you...
Zebra danios 79.cents each they lay 200-500 eggs eash morning, when fully grown thye can be very nice small profit
guppies a $3-$5 fish with 2 pregnant females each female will give about 20 fry MINIMUM i belive that 40 or 60 is the max so 40 x $3 = 120 more if the fertillity is very high

You've been a great help. Thank you very much for all the information. :)
