I asked over on the species specific boards this morning about a behavior my Silver Dollars have been doing and my suspicious were confirmed in that my Silver Dollars are apparently breeding.
I don't know much about breeding Silver Dollars as every fish I've bred before has been a livebearer and I'm finding some very conflicting information online of Silver Dollar breeding, but I had a few questions....
Should I not be gravel vacing my tank now since the eggs get laid on the gravel? (from what I've read)
How long should it take the eggs to hatch and will the Silver Dollars or other fish in the tank eat the eggs/fry? I currently have the two Silver Dollars, a Red Hook Silver Dollar, an African Knifefish, one Lemon Tetra, one Hatchetfish and about three zebra danions as well as a small Sailfin Pleco.
Anything else I should know?
