Has anyone bred the dojo loach? I have a 110 gallon planted tank and found baby dojo loaches in the tank. I read they are rarely bred.

Well congratulations!! It certainly isnt a very common achievement at all!! The only other person I know on here to have had baby weather (dojo) loaches is Star4. Here is her topic:

Thanks, I think my setup must have something to do with it. The gravel is a mix of stream gathered pebbles mixed with store bought fine gravel, the adults(2) immediatly burrowed and live in the substrate. Also on the sides of the tank I have slate secured all the way up and this cave area is where I found the babies. I also have a breeding pair of kribs (not so unusual) I will try to get pics

The wet weather this year I think has a lot to do with it as they like to spawn when its raining. How many fry do you have?

I have seen only two but they are living behind a rock wall so there may be more. I never saw the eggs. The adults only come out at night

It is a possibility you have more, for ages I only saw one, when I moved them I had 9. Weatherloach spawning is so quick that I think most people never see it and the eggs get eaten, sounds like some of the eggs in your tank got missed. It seems once the eggs hatch the parents dont eat the fry just the eggs, I have seen my pair spawn again a couple of times now, the first the eggs got eaten, now they are in the new set up there is a chance one or two eggs could hatch, but with 11 weather loach hunting the eggs out chances are slim. The fry will grow fast upto about 4" then slow down some. What size are they now? I found mine fed heavily on the microlife in the algae to start with.

They are about an inch or so. They are now coming out at feeding time, they seem to like shrimp pellets. On either side wall Ive cemented slate all the way up and that is where they are residing,Behind
