? bout rams

say i got a couple of german blue rams (they're beatiful) or nay rams for that matter they are chichlids so are they pretty agressive ?? hwta could i keep with them and has anyone ever had sucess breeding ?

They are not as aggressive as other NW cichlids, and you can keep them with just about anything (as long as that won't eat them). However they can become aggressive when spawning. Apparently they are not too difficult to breed.

That is because they are perfect specimens of rarer strains usually. They don't sell regular fish on aguabid. The normal rams at the LFS are 5 dollars.

rams are the best fish to start off when getting new worlds, they're relly easy to keep

german blues arn't that special, just that they coem from a different place(not germany actually) and they got alot more colour then regulars

The reason they are called "german" blue rams is because in Germany normal blue rams were selectively bred especially to enhance their colourings. While colours were enhanced, alot of recessive genes were also brought out as opposed to dominant genes. This often results in a weaker constitution, poorer parenting skills, etc, etc. All in all though, they are a beautiful fish and my two have spawned in their tank, none have hatched though due to being housed with catfish, a detriment to fishbreeding lol
