can anyone tell me what is a good price to pay for these fish?

i have sen them in afew shops

1 for £8

another for £6.50

and another for 3 for £18, which is obviously the best

is this right or can i get them cheeper?

That is a standard LFS price. In the US, they go for $10 a piece or more depending on size.
