The lfs say he is fine they keep then in their tanks all the time.
Looks like no-one is interested in having him . The tank looks mega complecated for a beginner whatcan i do. Even if I buy a fast moving tank and put heater to 70 degrees or even at room temp he'd be on his own is that okay.
I could rehome my guppyfry.

I get stung everytime. I wish lfs were banned on selling fish, problem is they know what I have and why do they keep them theirselves in Tropical tanks.
I am very sad He's been here two weeks and is eating and looks okay. the tank is very well oxygenated so thats a help. I also have changed water more frequently and it's a long established filter.with air jets.

I know the feeling. Many years ago I also tried to keep several of these cute little fish (in my tropical tanks). Only for them to die after a few months :(

Most shops really don't care much (or just don't have the knowledge, which is even scarier) and as a business, their priority is to make money.

Hope you find a good home for it

I know I'm upset but I am really pleased you have been so honest. keep pointing these things out. I really thought it was a dream since the plec I bought will grow . Still he's not dead yet but no offers. I guess if I take him back they will only get another seller
Poor thing .

If you really want a nice small catfish for your tank, why not try to get a few Oto's ? They're not very expensive, stay nice and small and are really great peaceful algae eaters for tropical tanks.

After long hesitations, I finally dared to go ahead with it today. (A different hillstream, not Borneo Sucker, but the same principle). Unless something goes horribly wrong, I'll have a proper hillstream tank by Sunday...the fish is still at the store with a SOLD sign on the tank.
