 I have just put in a Red Tailed Black Shark in my tank. I have been made aware taht these fellas are little hooligans. Mine seems alright, I have watched him and he seems to keep himself to himself. he is only about 2 inches long at the moment. Someone has mentioned that If I put in Bolivian Rams he might take them out (been watching to much TV I fear).

I have noticed the shark chase my Lemom tetra one or twice, but only when they bump off him first, only for a few seconds and only chasing.

Will it really harm other fish.

I would really like to put in a couple of Bolivian Rams, how much of a problem do you people think this would be.

RTBS are terratorial and aggressive while Bolivian Rams are quite a community fish and more hardy than german blue rams.

I need size of the tank, current stock, water specs etc

I have a RTBS in 180L along with three firemouths, 6 tiger barbs, 6 danios and a couple of small bristlenose plecs. All get on very well - sometimes there is a bit of jostling between the firemouths and the RTBS, but it is all show and never amounts to much.

RTBS has grown from 3cm to 8cm, was introduced shortly after firemouths.

My first post!

I Have a Juwel Rio 125 litre. with gravel substrate rocks, and Bogwood 3 or 4 (little caves), and it is quite will planted.

I already have 1 Red Tailed Black Shark
5 Zebra Danio
10 Lemon Tetra

I would say listening reading others posts on the behavior of an RTBS, that if the ram at all trys to get territorial and push its weight around, the RTBS will kill it, no contest. They can be very aggressive and very mean so I would just be careful as I've heard of them killing cichlids almost twice their size.
