Bogwood In A Cycling Tank

I have two pieces of bogwood in a 33 gallon tank that has been sycling for about 3 weeks.

(The tank has two shrimp in it).

One of then has developed what looks like white fungusy mold. Is this normal for bogwood in a cycling tank ?

Some pieces get it but not all. It will go away on its own eventually or you can just scrub it off but it doesn't cause any problems.
