I was thinking about a school of Blue or Turquoise Danio for my 29 gallon tank. I thought all Danio species were quite hardy. But, on the Live Aquaria site, their care level is listed as moderate. And in a message posted to these boards, someone said that they found the Long-Fin Blues to not be as hardy as other danio. I really like the powder blue color; but, I am not going to waste money on a fish that isn't hardy.

Do you mean Danio kerri?

They are not as adaptable under unfavourable conditions or quite as indestructible as zebra or leopard danios but they are still very hardy fish by most standards. They are certainly worth keeping though!

Yes. Danio Kerri. I would love to keep them in a "minnow" tank with a school of gold white clouds. I think the light blue and light gold would be a nice contrast. When you say they are hardy by most standards, are they close to white clouds? Are they more hardy than your average tetra or rasbora?

Also, they seem hard to find. I could order them online, but the only place that has them is liveaqauria and they require a minimum purchase. Fish2U has a longfin variety but I don't want that. Any ideas?
