Would a black light hurt the eyes of two Glofish Danio, two yoyo loaches, or a common pleco?
I'm just wondering because it seems so bright at night. :/
(No, this is not my tank. It is my friends.)

I think the glofish are supposed to "glo" under a blue light. If that is what you mean, then no, it won't hurt their eyes. However, I would ask your friend to consider the stocking a bit because those danio (and I believe the loaches) need schools, but yeah. I'm not sure if a black light would hurt their eyes though. Actually, if your friend is using the blue/black light all night long, this is probably not the best idea as fish do appreciate periods of total darkness, much like we humans do.

As far as I can remember from researching into this a couple years back, blacklight is dangerous to fish.  It is ultraviolet.

And I concur with Atticus on the species numbers and light in general.  I realize this is not your tank, LyraGuppi, but your friend is not providing very good care for his poor fish.

I detailed the issue of light and fish health in another thread recently, so rather than repeat here is the link; it was in post #4:

Byron.

Sadly, I can't go much for the poor fish. I apologize every time I go over. :'(
Thank you Byron and Atiibones for helping.
