I currently have a black / brown algae growing on some of the plants in my tank and it appears to be spreading. My LFS told me that brown algae needs more light so up the light period. I'm not sure this is good advice or not?Current set-up quickly:
125 litre Juwel Rio
Co2 (DIY at the moment but pressurised coming today or tomorrow hopefully!)
dosing EI
heavily planted.
Light period is about 9 hours with a peak in the middle for aprox 5 hours. normal light period is 2wpg and high light is closer to 2.7wpg
Any suggestions? I haven't upped the photo period at the moment, I'm not sure its a good idea.
