The last couple of weeks i've been getting up to a very bitty tank. (little tiny black bits) At first I thought that it may be that my fishes had a major case of the s***s! Anyway I cleared most of it out yesterday but when I looked in the tank about 2 hours later the sand was covered again!! :grr: I've only got 1 dwarf gourami, 2 cories, 5 rasboras, 2 khuli loach and 4 shrimps in there so I'm sure they don't poo that much, or at least they didn't use too!! lol I completely cleaned my filter (which I do every week anyway) so i don't think its that. My question is (thank god she finally got round to it, I hear you say!!) can bogwood break down? I've taken it out for now and didn't see too many bits this morning. Its only about 2 months old and I have had this type of wood before without this kind of problem, anyone noticed this about their bogwood? Thanks :book:

yes, bogwood can and does eventually start breaking up a bit; I sometimes get bits out when I'm gravel vac'ing. Does no harm as far as I know.

My Shrimps do Poo like this ........ but a bit larger , i have only noticed little black bits on leaves etc. Could it be them do you think?

No, its not my shrimps, I would need to have about 50 trillion  of them in there to get the amount of black bits i see and i've only got 4, it must be like dwarfgourami says and my wood is breaking down. Theres far too many bits for me to leave it in cos it makes my tank look like it not been cleaned, ever!! yuck!! I'm trying a bit of mango root at the moment so I'll see if any more appear, if they do, does anyone know where i can get nappies for fish!!
