Biotope Or General?

I was wondering if you prefer to have a biotope tank (with fish, plants + decor from the same area) or a general community tank with just your favourtie fish, etc..... I would appreciate your views

Personally i much prefer a biotope tank with my newest tank being a South-East Asian one.

I do love all things South American myself and originally went out to have a South American Biotope but found it difficult to keep my particular plants alive!!

I now have an amazon theme apart from the plants as I have found I am legendary at growing Java fern on wood. Still like most S.American fish though. So, to answer your question, a mixture of the 2 if that's possible!!

I would prefer to own a Biotope aquarium... more natural...

I'm trying to create a biotope aquarium at the moment (Borneo) and the hardest thing I find, is getting the right plants!

Yeah the right plants are hardest as i have a few from other places! But at least ive managed to stick with the fish from South-East Asia (well apart from my Synodontis, i love him!)
