The scenario being to have 2 established tanks with 2 filters on each of them.

Both tanks has fishes but not the same kind. is it possible to move all the fishes from tank 1 to tank 2 and the existing ones from tank 2 to tank 1?

Tank 1 - 80 gal:
12 tiger barb
2 pleco
2 snail

Tank 2 - 35 gal:
5 angelfish
2 mollies

I would like to have my angels in the bigger tank. however, i am not sure if the bioload will be the same and what will be the effect.

Any inputs? thanks

If you could switch filters or media along with the fish it would not be a problem. If this is not possible, don't feed for 24 hours before the move and for 24 hours afterwards. Feed lightly for the next week, less food means less waste produced. This will avoid any cycling problems due to any increase in bio load.

Thanks Tolak.

I have 2 filters in each tank right now (total 4 in both tanks). Is it good enough to switch only 1 filter from each tank ?
