thanks ill check it out. well i was about to get them at petland by ordering them i tried 3 times and they couldnt get them. Saying they were too hard to findHave you tried Aquabid, many of the sellers are based in but will post to Canada ?
Check out this seller, you could try contacting him as he is based in Canada and sells killi eggs, ergo he has adults available![]()
Aquabid
thanks. do u know what his fish look like though? No problem, looks as the addy for this guy is in Vancouver, not sure where you are in conjunction but it has got to be cheaper getting them from him than a lf's.
Fingers crossed for you.
Tina
Thanks i just googled it after..but i think id rather get the eggs because theres 40 eggs for around 10-12$ and here in canada if u buy that kind of fish they sell aroud 50$ for a pair. and if i bought them from him even know that im a province away the fish might freeze so i might get them in a few months...do u think they'd go good with guppies, balloon molly, and swordtail platys?Nope but he has 100% feedback (87/87) so his buyers are pleased with the eggs, never bought live fish from Aquabid so can't say.
You can ask for photo's of his fish, I'm sure he will provide them.

thanks will do!! BigC do u know why it wont let u register on aqaubid because i was gonna try to get some fundulopanchax sjostedti but then since i couldnt register i couldnt bid on them still really POed!!!Killifish require quite different water conditions than harder water livebearers and the mollies require a certain amount of salt added.
Best to set up a little separate species tank for the killifish.
Try Fred Behrmann at Athens Aquatics NY
Athensaquatics@Juno.com
See if he can help you out.
He may be prepared to post but it may cost you extra.
If he can't help in that respect then ask him if he can supply you with details of a contact within the Canadian Killifish Association (CKA)
Good Luck

thanks. should i get fp. gardneri lafia gold have u ever raised them? You don't really want Sjoestedti as your first species they are very large, bottom spawning species.
On the whole Killifish will be fine without filters especially the powered type. If your going to use filters I suggest that you utilise small air driven sponge types.
There is an excellent breeder of killifish in Quebec

I dont have his email address or phone details. He doesn't have any Fp. gardneri type sp. but he may know someone who has.

thanks that helped me! how do the makurdi look i cant find a good pic. Oh ya and if anyone has an old file of aquabid could i use it.I'm not a great lover of "gold" morphs of any variety of Killifish.
I prefer to go for the nigerianus types, they tend to be more colourful.
Locational references to look out for would be
Fundulopanchax gardneri Nigerianus ( + any locational ref. below)
Port Harcourt
Innidere
Jos Plateau
Lokoja
Makurdi
